The Cheoy Lee WILLIE B is now FOR SALE!
This is how we received the boat. It is in great shape, in spite of it's appearance. Because it is all made of old growth Burmese teak, there is absolutely NO rot.
BE SURE TO LOOK AT ALL THE PHOTOS, THERE ARE MANY PAGES OF THEM!!

The planking has shrunk somewhat because it has been out of the water for over 20 years. Had this been any wood other than teak, the shrinkage would have been much worse. All of the oakum and caulk will be removed and it will be totally re-caulked in the traditional method.

Once the paint is scraped off, all the seams are cleaned, and re-caluked, all of the hull will be final scraped by hand and the bottom painted. The topsides of the hull will be varnished. The deck seam caulking will be scraped out and new caulking will be used.

First order of business is to secure the top from the elements. I have started to recaulk the deck seams and then I will sand, seal, and paint the cabin tops.

All deck caulking has been removed where necessary and replaced. Most of the seams were tight, however several had opened up and were allowing water in.

The deck hatch has had water damage. This is probably from the cabin roof. The cabin roof was overlayed in fiber glass at the factory and unless that remains absolutely weather-tight, it will hold water and allow mold and rot to take place.

The interior, after removing all ceilings and bulkheads. The interior of the hull, and the frames are in excellent shape. Scraping and painting the interior and the underside of the cabin roof will show where any water may still be getting through the deck.
